Kelly Parker and Sharon Dixon, counselors at the Bales Intermediate and Westwood Elementary schools visited the club to talk about the Sweets for Soldiers Project that they head up. Students collect and send sweet treats and homemade Valentines overseas to military personnel on active duty. Last year they sent out about 65 boxes to service members stationed in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan. With the help of Friendswood Rotary they hope to surpass that total this year. Robin hall presents the counselors with a check for 500.00 to cover the cost of postage to mail the packages. Thanks to all those who serve their country.
